Since 2010, the community of East Rainton in Houghton-le-Spring has united every other year to honor Chris Snaith while raising vital funds to advance GBM research. This event, initiated by Dave Snaith and Stephanie Snaith-Jach, began as a modest gathering but quickly transformed into a highly anticipated occasion, featuring entertainment that reflects Dave's passion for rock bands, alongside auction items like signed SAFC memorabilia that generated enthusiastic bidding.

In 2018, the last event drew over 500 attendees from the Northeast and beyond, successfully raising significant funds for the cause. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic and the passing of Dave disrupted this beloved tradition. Nevertheless, many are committed to reviving this important event, uniting as a community to honor the legacies of both Chris and Dave while continuing to make a meaningful impact. Plans are underway for the re-launch of this gathering, which will surely endure.
